Nic started playing tennis at age 17. As a Track and Cross Country runner, his fitness transition into tennis was pretty fluid. His fastest mile was 5:06 which helped with his speed on the court. He was awarded the most improved player in High School and he continued with winning numerous round robin matches at Cal State University of Northridge as well as winning a singles tournament in Studio City, CA. After relocating to Orange County in 2001, Nic has continued teaching in Irvine as his passion. He has over 27 years of playing experience and over 15 years of teaching experience. He teaches tennis to many kids and adults. In 2007 he competed as a powerlifter and won 3 State Championships in Bench Press with his biggest lift of 451lbs. He loves running, cycling, playing the piano and spending time with his children and family.
He is currently USTA SafeSport Certified, CPR/First Aid and AED Certified and a USPTA Member. He is also an active member for the City of Irvine Emergency Response Team as well as an Irvine Community Police Academy Graduate!
Coach Nic incorporates the same teaching fundamentals top ranked academy instructors teach like legends Rick Macci, Nick Bollettieri and Patrick Mouratoglou. Nic assimilates the same warm up drills that professional tennis players do to get the body properly conditioned. Instruction focuses on the most modern footwork technique so the student can understand how to utilize positioning for the game. The student will understand how to space themselves properly, how to adjust with time and space and perform the correct swing path to generate topspin. Positioning and execution are crucial to having that quality shot. Your swing path will be broken down step by step and with video analysis to help you correct any errors along the way. Equipment is provided and we ask that students bring proper clothing and shoes.
